Chapter 52 - 2.22 Bad Vampire [M]
The vampires lined up in a row similar to disobedient students who were disciplined by the teacher, trembling in fear and horror. The night was suffocatingly silent, they didn’t even dare to breathe. All of a sudden, it was as if a spark of light had found its way through the dark. A figure with long, luminous silver hair and deep crimson eyes descended from the sky. In his embrace was a teenager who had his arms around the vampire’s neck.
As soon as Lu Yizhou’s feet touched the ground, the vampires instantly kneeled down. "My Lord!"
Theodore took in the scene, half mesmerized and half thrilled. He knew that Raphael was the Vampire King but it wasn’t until now did he realize what it meant to be a king. Those vampires who would show their fangs upon seeing humans turned as meek as quails, not even daring to lift their heads. And Theodore who was carried in Raphael’s arm felt a sense of achievement and superiority that made him feel more haughty and proud.
Lu Yizhou nodded lightly. He turned his gaze toward the closest vampire. "You are the bunch who sold humans as slaves?"
The vampire who was being cued suddenly paled to an almost impossible white. His teeth chattered as he stuttered out. "P—Please forgive us, it’s our mistake!" He prostrated under Lu Yizhou’s feet and the others followed along. "Please forgive us, My Lord!"
Lu Yizhou sighed. "We have agreed to maintain the peace between the two races to a minimal level. What you have done isn’t simply a mistake. It’s a sin."
"Please forgive us! Please forgive us! We—We are blinded by the temptation of riches. We won’t do it again, please forgive us!!!" They begged again and again, tears streaming down their faces.
Lu Yizhou pressed his lips together. His crimson eyes shone in a more intense shade of red and along with it was the intoxicating smell of roses. "You will spread my word. If I catch sight of this kind of activity again, this won’t end with a simple warning. You know how I am."
"Yes, yes, we will definitely do that! Please rest assured that we won’t repeat the same mistake again, My Lord!"
Lu Yizhou nodded in satisfaction. "Then scram."
As if cued, the vampires scrambled away as fast as possible, their figures turned into a blur. The trees rustled wildly by their movements and then soon returned to the usual tranquility.
