Chapter 22- Everling

Ever since I was a boy, I had wanted to know how it felt, I wasn’t after money, I wasn’t after sex or even power all I had wanted since I drew my first breath was to know how it felt to be above all else, Being born as a low rank with nothing to his name I wanted to know what it was like to have everything, to be unopposed. That’s why I had worked so hard, I had killed, I had betrayed because my goal was all that mattered to me.
"You are all men of silver hollow!" I addressed the rows of men who stood in single files like they were in an assembly as I looked down at them from the edge of my office balcony.
"You are men of pride and men who demand respect!", they murmured in agreement, Useless bastards I thought as I looked at the greedy smiles on their faces.
"Howlcreek has for too long stood at the spot where you belong! it is time for us to take back what we deserve!" I shouted and they all cheered, my stomach turned as I spoke, what did these men think they deserved? When I came to Silver Hollow I was like them only that I had more than a grain of ambition than all of them combined, I walked towards my goal step by step even if it took me years upon years but these men, all their lives they’ve waited for people to lead them, for people to hand what they thought they deserved to them, it was pathetic, But still I was thankful, its easier to use a greedy man than an ambitious one.
"Now go and serve your pack!" I ordered and they all cheered valiantly like men ready for war. I turned around and walked back into my office where Leo and Lucas waited for me.
"Nothing worse than weak men who think they’re strong," Leo commented.
"Well props to them, They volunteered to die for my cause," I said calmly looking back at the dispersing lines.
"What are we gonna do about the other problem, last I remember you can’t get to the peak when they police every action you make," Lucas said, I turned to look at him and smiled.
"My friend, Don’t worry about something till I tell you to." I said "The humans aren’t a problem to me.", Lucas let out an inaudible chuckle.
