Chapter 20- Hope

The cold breeze of the office blew against my skin as I watched her with observant eyes, Grace Baylor, A human who had devoted her life to treating and studying werewolves, Her skills in medicine were renowned, became a surgeon at 23 and served Howl creek since she had received her practice license, she never let a patient die no matter how severe, as far as there was hope she would pull through, she was gifted and at this point, I had no choice but to trust her with my life. My mind was racing and my heart thumping with fear but I remained silent, I couldn’t let my anxiety show, The doctor looked through her notes from my previous checkups, her eyes scanned through every word on the pages she read and mumbled quietly to herself, her continued silence made making me increasingly anxious, was I getting better or worse? I needed to know.
"How does it look Doc" I pressed unable to take the silence anymore and immediately she stopped and looked at me, she leaned back into her chair and took off her glasses.
"Well, your healing abilities are keeping things at bay but the cancer continues to progress" The doctor explained, I felt a shiver at the base of my spine but I remained composed.
"So what can we do?" I asked trying to keep my voice calm and steady.
"Well, we can start chemotherapy, but we’d have to start immediately" She proposed, my stomach churned as I heard the words that left his mouth.
"Chemotherapy?" I repeated, hoping I had heard the wrong words.
"Unfortunately, Yes" she confirmed, her dry voice filled with indifference.
"Fuck that" Daniel barked angrily stepping close to the doctor, she remained still not moving from her position not even slightly bothered by Daniel who angrily walked towards her.
"Relax Daniel," I said and Daniel immediately stopped and looked back at me.
"That’s not an option" Daniel sternly said.
