Chapter 15- For Today

I watched with a smile on my face as she sang along to the music that played in the car, she was beautiful I thought as I parked the car in front of the restaurant.
"Hungry?" I asked her and as if in the queue I heard the sound of her stomach rumble, I chuckled not even waiting for an answer anymore, I stepped out of the car and so did she.
"Romani's" She read aloud the name of the restaurant.
"Let's go" I gestured as I walked through the transparent doors and into the packed restaurant, the classical music that played was calm and gave the place a class feel but the furniture and table placement served to remind all who entered that it was a modern establishment.
"Gimme a sec" I whispered as I went to the counter, the man behind me immediately recognized me.
"Mike, good to see you man" He greeted with a smile.
"Hey Greg, is Thomas around" I asked as I shook his hand.
"Yeah, want me to call him for you"
"Nah I'll just go in" I replied as I walked past the counter and into the kitchen, Immediately I stepped in I could feel the harsh rise in temperature the sounds of utensils being used filled my ears as I searched around for Thomas, I couldn't find him so I held unto the first person I saw.
"Hey" I greeted, the waiter I held onto looked up at me and immediately recognized me.
