I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl

Chapter 512 - 509 – A DECEITFUL REST: EXILE TO THE ANCIENT GIANT GRAVEYARD

After the luxurious and soul-warming night banquet ended, the three sisters were escorted by the homunculus servants to the guest bedroom in the west wing of the Underworld Palace. The room did not exude a gloomy, hellish impression at all. Instead, the room was designed with elegant gothic architecture, its walls lined with burgundy velvet, and in the middle of the room stood a giant four-poster bed with a very soft black silk canopy.

For entities of their level, sleep was not actually a pressing biological need. However, after passing through a series of trials that drained them physically, mentally, and magically, laying down on a comfortable mattress felt like an oasis in the middle of a desert.

Sylvia was the first to throw herself onto the mattress. She rolled to the center, spreading her arms and legs wide, taking up almost half the space. Her loose silk nightgown slipped open, but she didn’t care. Her eyes stared at the bedroom ceiling, which was decorated with a painting of the underworld’s constellations.

"Ahhh... now this is life," Sylvia muttered while yawning widely, showing off her small fangs. "A full meal, a hot bath, then a soft bed. If every day in the Underworld is like this, I wouldn’t mind staying here forever."

Alicia, who had just finished combing her blonde hair in front of a silver-framed vanity mirror, could only shake her head seeing her younger sister’s antics. She floated slowly, then landed gracefully on the still-empty side of the bed.

"Don’t get too comfortable, Sylvia. Mother Persephone’s kindness always comes with a price to pay. I’m not sure we’ll be allowed to relax like this for a long time," Alicia said, her voice filled with rational caution. As a tactical commander, Alicia always thought about the next step.

Meanwhile, in the corner of the room, Stacia didn’t touch the bed at all. She sat cross-legged on the thick carpet, surrounded by dozens of illusory parchment scrolls she had created using her remaining mana. Her fingers moved quickly in the air, rewriting thousands of formulas and theories she had managed to remember from the Grand Library of Tartarus before being forcibly dragged home.

"Alicia is right," Stacia chimed in without taking her eyes off her illusory scrolls. "Based on probability calculations and Mother Persephone’s behavioral patterns, the threat level of our next trial will increase exponentially. Besides, there is something far more important that I am observing right now."

Sylvia tilted her head, looking at Stacia with one eye open. "What is it, Bookworm? Don’t tell me you found a way to fit the entire library into your head."

"That’s not it, you barbarian," Stacia snorted. She flicked her finger, and a small mana projection screen appeared in the air, displaying a complex chart. "It’s about our soul connection. You know, Sylvia, that this Evolution System is bound exclusively to your main existence, right?"

"Of course. It’s my screen, my status, and my level," Sylvia replied while patting her own chest.

"Correct. Technically, Alicia and I don’t have a System. We don’t get EXP notification screens when killing monsters, and we don’t have individual status panels that we can open arbitrarily," Stacia explained, her tone turning highly academic. "However, when you slaughtered thousands of monsters in the Abyssal Chasm earlier, Alicia and I felt the same surge of power. My mana reserves expanded, and Alicia’s conceptual power in the Spirit Realm strengthened drastically."

Alicia nodded in agreement, confirming her younger sister’s hypothesis. "When you went up two levels to 252, I felt my holy authority in the spirit realm become much more absolute. It was as if my limits were forcibly pulled upwards."

Stacia pushed her imaginary glasses. "The conclusion is very simple. Even though you hold the System, the three of us are a single united existence. Our soul cores are connected to the same root. You are the vessel, Sylvia. Meaning, if you manage to reach Level 400 and meet the requirements to evolve from Primordial Undead of Absolute Death (Rank 6) to Rank 7... then automatically, the laws of nature will force Alicia and me to evolve along with you. Your rank promotion is our rank promotion. Your evolution will rewrite the existence of both of us."

Hearing that, Sylvia grinned widely. "Oh? So the two of you are basically beautiful parasites freeloading EXP from my hard work, is that it?"

A pillow flew at sonic speed and smacked Sylvia in the face.

"Watch your mouth," Alicia said with a deadly sweet smile, her hand still in the pillow-throwing position. "Without Stacia’s buffs and my protection, you would just be a madman who dies a foolish death for charging at enemies without calculation."

Sylvia burst into laughter, tossing the pillow in a random direction. That night was spent with light chats, petty bickering, and eventually, they fell into a deep sleep, enjoying the rare peace offered by the night in Elysium.

However, what they didn’t know was... this would be their last peaceful sleep for a very, very long time.

Behind their bedroom walls, in the silence of the dimensional observation room, Persephone stood staring at the projection of her three sleeping daughters. Her usually sharp purple eyes now radiated a blend of a mother’s affection and a tyrannical ruler’s coldness.

"They are growing fast. Very fast," Persephone muttered to herself. Her hand stroked an ancient artifact shaped like a giant stone skull the size of a crystal ball hovering above an altar table.

The artifact wasn’t just any object; it was the Primordial Dimensional Key.

"However, fast alone is not enough. The world they will face later will not give them time to relax, will not give them time to argue, and will not show mercy. They need an illogical leap in power. They need absolute evolutionary pressure."

Persephone channeled her mana into the stone skull. Instantly, the skull’s eye sockets emitted a blood-red light, and the space around the altar began to distort, radiating an extremely heavy ancient aura, as if the air itself turned into molten lead.

This was the access to a forbidden place, a dimension that was even avoided by high-level gods of death in the Underworld. A place where giants from the era before creation were buried.

"Forgive me, my children," Persephone whispered, even though her face showed absolutely no regret. "Tonight’s sleep is the dessert I’m offering. Because starting tomorrow, you will enter true hell."

The next morning.

Or at least, that was what their biological bodies felt after resting for about ten hours. Sylvia, Alicia, and Stacia were awakened by servants bringing them new adventurer robes—robes designed with materials that were far lighter yet thousands of times tougher than before.

"Wow, what is this? Are we going on a trip?" Sylvia asked while twirling her body, admiring her new pitch-black combat robe with black chain accents.

"Mother summoned us to the Deepest Hall," Alicia answered, her expression turning serious again. "My intuition tells me this isn’t a call for breakfast."

The three stepped out of the room and were immediately teleported by palace magic directly to the mentioned location.

Upon arrival, the biting cold air immediately greeted their skin. They were not in the throne room, but rather in a giant underground cave illuminated by blue fire torches. At the end of the cave, there was a pair of giant stone gates hundreds of meters high, filled with carvings of colossal creatures seemingly supporting the sky. The gates were wrapped in golden chains as thick as banyan tree trunks, radiating a god-tier seal aura.

Persephone was already standing in front of the gates. The aura around her felt highly oppressive and unfriendly.

"Mother? What is this place? Why does its aura feel so ancient?" Stacia asked, her researcher instincts immediately awakening upon seeing the carvings on the gates. Her eyes squinted, trying to read the almost faded ancient letters. "Wait... these characters... this is the Genesis Language! It’s the language from the era before the gods ruled!"

Persephone turned her body, looking at her three daughters with an uncompromising gaze. "Did you all really sleep well last night, my children? Good. Because you will deeply miss those beds."

Sylvia grinned, drawing her Rapier of Night. "More training? Who do I have to kill this time, Mother? A dragon army? Or your subordinate demon princes?"

"That difficulty level is too low to test your absolute limits, Sylvia," Persephone replied coldly. She raised her hand, and the stone skull from last night’s altar floated into the air.

RUUUMMBBLLE!

The earth beneath their feet trembled violently. The giant golden chains wrapping the gates began to shift and come loose one by one, producing a metal grinding sound that made their ears ring. Slowly but surely, the hundreds-of-meters-tall gates opened inwards, spewing thick gray fog and a gravitational aura so strong it almost made Alicia drop to her knees.

Just from the gust of air alone, they could smell the scent of ancient death, the smell of creatures whose bodies never truly decayed, but instead hardened into continents and mountains.

"This is the Tomb of the Ancient Giant Race," Persephone’s voice echoed, shattering the instinctive fear that began to creep into her three daughters’ hearts. "A separate dimension where Primordial Titans, Jotunns from the era of the void, and star-devouring Colossi are buried. This place is locked away from standard space and time."

"Buried?" Stacia swallowed hard, tightly gripping her robe. "You mean... those mountain-sized corpses... move?"

"In the underworld, dear Stacia, the word ’dead’ is merely a status, not the end of movement," Persephone smiled mysteriously. "The gravity in there is a hundred times heavier than this place. The miasma there is thick enough to poison gods. The monsters born from the maggots of those giant corpses have a base level above 300."

Sylvia gulped. The smile on her face faded for a moment before blossoming again into an adrenaline-filled grin. "That... sounds very promising for an EXP harvest."

"How long do we have to survive in there, Mother?" Alicia asked, trying to maintain her composure under the pressure radiating from beyond the portal. "One week? One month?"

"That’s the issue," Persephone cut in casually, as if she were talking about the weather. "Time in there runs on broken laws. It could be one week in real time, it could be months, or maybe years. I will not open these gates again until an absolute condition is met."

"Condition?" the three sisters asked in unison.

Persephone pointed right at Sylvia. "Until you, Sylvia, evolve. Until your System breaks the limit of Rank 6 and the three of you achieve a new transcendent form. Until that time comes, there is no way home. No rest. No good food. Only you, and the ancient rulers who refuse to lie peacefully."

Before Stacia had a chance to launch into a long protest about the sanitary conditions and the lack of reading facilities in the giant tomb, Persephone had already moved.

The Queen of the Underworld dashed at lightning speed, appearing right behind her three daughters. With a massive, irresistible telekinetic push, Persephone struck their backs.

"Wait, Mother! I haven’t finished preparing my formu... WAAAAAAAH!" Stacia’s scream echoed as her body was thrown into the gray fog.

"Mother always loves to plaaaay diiiiirty!" Sylvia cursed while trying to balance herself in mid-air before being swallowed by the portal.

Alicia could only sigh in resignation. "Alright. See you... whenever."

The moment their three bodies crossed the giant threshold, Persephone immediately snapped her fingers again. The colossal stone gates slammed shut with a loud bang, locking away space and time, and the golden chains wrapped tightly around them once more. Everything fell silent again.

On the other side of the portal, the interdimensional transition felt like being thrown into a cosmic washing machine.

When their vision refocused, the three sisters found themselves thrown onto the ground, which turned out not to be sandy soil, but the dull-colored surface of a skull bone the size of a small continent.

The sky above them had no sun, only a swirling cloud of dead stardust. Extreme gravity immediately pressed down on their shoulders, making even Sylvia, who possessed over 4 Billion STR, feel her body suddenly weigh tens of tons. Stacia and Alicia instantly collapsed to the ground drenched in cold sweat, struggling hard to regulate their mana just to stand upright.

In the distance, piercing through the gray fog, they could see a row of ribs towering into the storm clouds, forming a jagged mountain range. And from the crevices of those giant bones, a low growling sound was heard that made the void tremble. A pair of bright yellow eyes the size of an island slowly opened from the shadows of the bone abyss.

Right at that moment, a cold mechanical voice buzzed inside Sylvia’s head, displaying a blood-red interface screen reflecting the despair of the place.

Sylvia painstakingly supported her body with her hands, fighting against the overwhelming gravitational pressure. She turned towards Alicia, who was chanting a wind shield spell to reduce the pressure, and Stacia, whose face was deathly pale yet her eyes sparkled crazily at the sight of the prehistoric bone materials.

"Alright, my sisters..." Sylvia hissed, her lips slowly curving into a psychopathic, death-defying smile. Her eyes ignited amidst the darkness of the giant graveyard. "It seems our vacation is officially over. Let’s make these giant ancestors regret ever being born into this world."
