Chapter 129 – A Meteor Named Sofia
The next morning, Sylvia woke from her unnecessary sleep a habit she maintained more out of nostalgia than need. Morning sunlight streamed through the glass windows of the castle, casting a silver sheen on the polished stone floor. Without saying a word, she slipped into her favorite black dress and stepped out of her room, heading toward the throne room at the heart of her new castle a grand structure built in silence by thousands of worker zombies as a tribute from Zark.
Inside the throne room, Zark was already waiting. The Tyrant stood tall in his battle suit, exuding an air both proud and majestic. As Sylvia sat on her throne, Zark bowed deeply, holding a rolled-up scroll in his hand.
"My Queen," he greeted firmly. "A report has arrived from the scout zombies deployed outside. It’s still a preliminary summary, but important enough to share."
Sylvia gave a slight nod. "Report."
Zark unrolled the scroll and began to read in his deep voice.
"Several portals continue to appear randomly across different locations, but so far, no humans have dared to enter them. Our undead scouts tried entering just as expected, most of them lead to minor worlds. Fragments of reality, not full-fledged realms like the one you explored before."
Sylvia leaned back slightly, eyes narrowing with interest, though not yet satisfied. "Continue."
Zark nodded and continued, his tone more serious now.
"Because the humans failed to close those portals, foreign creatures have started slipping into this world. From the reports gathered so far, we’ve identified a spread of various monsters in several regions: goblins, kobolds, orcs, ogres, even cyclopes."
Sylvia touched her chin. "Interesting... this world is becoming quite the hunting ground."
"That’s not all," Zark continued. "We’ve also detected a few humanoid entities. Elves and dwarves from the other side of the portals. They appear intelligent and capable of communication, though their motives remain unknown."
