I Got Reincarnated as a Zombie Girl

Chapter 110 – Language, Breakfast, and the Bacon Idea

That morning, I woke up like usual no alarm, no dreams, and of course, no sleepiness. As an undead, I didn’t need sleep in the biological sense, but it turns out lying on a soft bed all night could still feel incredibly pleasant. Warm, soft, and cozy... maybe even too cozy.

I slowly rose from the bed, stretching even though no muscles were sore. A habit left over from my former life. Then I walked over to the window and gently opened it. The morning breeze greeted my face, carrying the scent of dew and the faint aroma of toasted bread from afar.

The city was already coming alive.

Footsteps, clattering wagons, and faint conversations could be heard from the street below. Vendors were beginning to open their stalls, setting up small tents and arranging their goods with practiced hands. Children ran around laughing. Hunters walked past in full gear, ready to take on their daily quests.

I pulled a small chair near the window, then sat down and crossed my legs. Just enjoying the quiet morning.

But as I listened to the people’s conversations outside, something strange happened. I... understood.

"They say the mercenaries from the west will start moving next week." "Seriously? Is this going to be a major war?" "I heard there’s tension between the vampire kingdom and the human kingdom. No official announcement yet, though..."

I listened carefully. Sentence after sentence entered my ears... and I understood them. Not just guessing from context or translating word for word I truly understood the language.

I tilted my head, trying to remember. When I first arrived in this world, I couldn’t understand anyone. The only exception had been Velthya, who could speak to me thanks to a special ability. But now? I understood everything naturally, as if this language had become part of me.

"Since when...?" I muttered softly.

No response from Alicia or Stacia this time. Maybe they hadn’t noticed either. Or... could this be a side effect of my system’s evolution? My system had undergone massive changes since it evolved, though quests were still rare. Maybe... as part of those changes, I had been synchronized with the world’s language.
