Chapter 85 – A Bloody Confession and a New Discovery
The air in the middle of the forest was still thick with the scent of drying blood. Damp leaves swayed gently in the wind, brushing against branches and creating a faint melody that seemed to accompany the vengeance I had just begun. Traces of the previous battle remained fresh bloodstains, broken weapons, and corpses partially devoured by ants and wild insects.
Amidst it all, I stood coldly before a trembling woman. The receptionist from the guild a female werewolf with dark gray fur and golden eyes that had lost their gleam of confidence. She quickly realized that this place was the site of death for the twelve intruders. Their corpses remained intact, some faces still recognizable despite their bodies being shredded by the merciless chains.
"Those faces... there’s no mistaking it... they’re all..." she muttered, her voice breaking.
I stared at her emotionlessly. "Correct. They’re the ones who tried to kidnap me. And I believe you know quite a lot about them."
Fear began to clearly take shape on her face, but I knew that wasn’t enough. I needed information. I wanted to know who was behind the kidnapping attempt. I had to confirm how deep the syndicate’s influence ran within the guild and who else was involved, including just how far the Guild Master was entangled.
But there was one problem.
"I never learned interrogation techniques," I muttered softly, letting out a breath.
But I had tools.
Twelve chains slowly extended from my body, hissing like metal serpents gliding through the air. Their tips morphed into sharp blades. Without warning, I flicked one chain, slicing precisely along the werewolf’s right arm. A thin wound formed, and the pain surely burned her skin. She bit her lip to hold back a scream.
Another chain followed. Small, stinging cuts covered her body not enough to kill, but more than enough to make her feel a personal hell on earth.
Still, she remained silent.
