Chapter 81 – Starting A new in Another World
My steps were slow but steady as I left the city gates. The sun had risen high, casting long shadows of the new guards standing on either side of the entrance. I glanced at them briefly strangers, new faces that replaced the guards I had killed yesterday.
They said nothing to me. Not even a wary glance or sign of tension. As if the deaths of the previous guards were nothing unusual. Just another part of life’s rhythm in this world, where sudden attacks, wild monsters, or intruders from other dimensions were no longer shocking enough to cause alarm.
I took a deep breath, then walked out of the city without looking back. The air was slightly warmer than yesterday. The wind carried the scent of wild grass and damp leaves from the forest not far to the west. That forest was my main destination today the place where the medicinal herbs for the Rank F quest could be found.
While walking, I opened a telepathic channel to Tyrant, the commander of my zombie army still expanding in my original world. Tyrant, don’t worry about me. Just focus on the territory. Don’t cause excessive chaos. How are things going over there?
It took a few seconds before Tyrant’s deep, heavy voice answered in my mind."The territory continues to grow, My Queen. However, there is something important to report."
I paused for a moment on the gravel path, listening more closely.
"Four of the zombie scouts you had secretly placed in the human base the one guarded by the human named Sofia have detected suspicious activity. Several individuals appear to be inciting rebellion. They look like common civilians, wearing ragged and dirty clothes... but they are actually military personnel. Disguised. Slowly infiltrating."
My eyes narrowed, and I clenched my fist unconsciously. "And Sofia hasn’t noticed yet?"
"Not yet, My Queen. But the shadow scouts are ready to act on your command."
