Chapter 11 – Shadowed by the Military, Haunted by Myself
It's been a week since I evolved.
Since that day, I've felt changes beyond the physical. My body grew stronger, yes—but more than that, I began to feel it. The presence. The eyes.
Someone—or rather, some people—were watching me.
Sometimes from a distance, sometimes from the shadows of crumbling high-rises. I couldn't see them directly, but I knew. The chill that crept down my spine, the subtle shifts in air pressure—it all screamed of surveillance.
They didn't attack. Just observed.
Maybe because they realized something I didn't attack humans unless provoked. I had no interest in killing them. Even when someone accidentally wandered into my hunting zone, I only watched—assessed whether they were dangerous. If not, I let them go.
But when they attacked first... I didn't show mercy.
I haven't forgotten who I used to be. But I also can't forget who I am now.
A living corpse with a heart.Ironic, isn't it?
