Chapter 682: An endless game
After Allen and his companions left, the Hall of the God of Law, Axilion, fell into silence. The statues of the beasts surrounding the God of Law seemed full of life, yet remained motionless. In front of the statue of the God of Law, one old beast bowed its head in silent prayer.
‘…’
The Beast God Garm quietly closed his eyes, filled with an absolute void of hopelessness. Whether seeking an answer or solace, he prayed earnestly to the statue of Axilion. The statue, of course, offered no response. Garm had likely spent countless hours in this state, hoping for some form of enlightenment. Suddenly, his ears twitched. He opened his eyes slowly, detecting the sound of approaching footsteps.
*Clack clack clack*
Someone was walking down the narrow corridor, the footsteps echoing off the walls and entering the hall.
‘Oh my, Garm is still here, offering meaningless prayers?’
The voice came from behind Garm, filled with a mocking tone, disrespectful to a revered Higher God and the object of beastmen’s faith.
‘…Kyuplas.’
‘Hahaha! Who's that? I’m Kyubel!’
