Nothing and absolutely nothing felt good with Arata gone. There was no one to peek inside my office in the morning with a cheerful smile and naughty expression.
No one to bring me the worst kind of coffee I had ever tasted.
She literally sucked at making coffee and yet I enjoyed it whenever she would carry my morning cup with her charming smile and a witty remark.
My watch had been sending me sharp retorts, sensing my mood was horrible.
I snapped at Miranda and then at Ranold. While the former rushed away with an apology the latter settled in a chair opposite me and demanded in his quirky way.
"Why are you acting so stuck up? Not getting laid?"
His blonde hair was styled with gel today while naughtiness danced in his icy blue eyes.
I paused, signing the papers he had brought me, and shot him a deep and scrutinising look which screamed murder before returning to my file again.
This didn’t deter him; sometimes, he refused to back down or understand I wasn’t in the mood to hear his quips and retorts.
"I can recommend a few girls. They are pretty skilled and stretchy..." he added with his usual hints of mischief, winking at me.
