Chapter 71: Calling Mrs A

By noon, I received a text from Mom informing me that the cotton was packed and that we would be receiving it by tomorrow. She had also notified Karsten.
A natural urge to confide in Mom about the threat I had received invaded my brain, but I didn’t intend to worry her. After the lunch break, Karsten called me into the office.
"I am leaving to receive the shipment for the cotton, it has arrived. Call an emergency meeting with all the required departments. I will speak to them on my arrival. We need to get started as soon as possible," he said, picking up the coat from the back of his chair. I had noticed he didn’t wear ties apart from some very formal meetings.
"Yes, Sir."
Karsten left the room, closing the door behind him, while I logged into the Discord server of the company and put in the announcement for an emergency meeting within two hours. It was time to arrange coffee and refreshments for them.
When Karsten returned, I sensed this satisfaction and composedness in his gait. In simple words, he seemed utterly content, and it showed on his face, for the expressions weren’t as wooden as he usually loved to keep.
He even flashed me a smile which was as rare as a chance of finding a pearl on the beach.
