Chapter 56: Arm Or Pillow?
(Arata)
Tensed and exhilarated, I watched Karsten walk off, leaving me extremely agitated. The ache between my legs grew and it was not only because of my period.
My body had instinctively reacted to him, although, as promised, he didn’t even touch me. Clutching my wig I adjusted it on my head, I had it perfectly settled but my frustration grew.
"Ugggh!" I knew I had to seek Twisted Rider again. Picking up the hem of the blanket I covered my face so Karsten wouldn’t see my embarrassed face and pretended to sleep. I was by no means ready to face him for the night.
He took his sweet time in the bathroom before emerging. I heard the bathroom door click open and the drumming of my heart picked up its pace.
The swishing sound of a towel being rubbed against his hair made my ears prick, but his feet made no sound against the floor; he had the grace of a leopard.
The fresh marine notes mingled with the scent of rain invigorated my senses. This one was slightly different from his usual cologne, it seemed like it was his washing gel.
The scent fully invaded my senses, meaning he was near. The pillow near me was picked up with a swishing sound and I knew he was moving away to sleep on the couch.
Did he have an extra blanket?
I peeked out, removing the blanket a notch so my right eye could see him and my heart missed so many beats.
The damp hair fell all over his forehead and eyes like the blackened tendrils.
