Chapter 356: Returning to Norvonna
<.Norvonna, the international airport.>
The glass doors of the arrival hall slid open with a soft hiss as a crowd walked through them, Ruediger was one of them. At over one in the afternoon, the sunlight cast long shadows from the glass dome of the terminal.
The buzz of travelers surrounded Ruediger. He saw families and friends reuniting, travel agents and chauffeurs holding placards and airport staff briskly maneuvering luggage carts.
The last time Ruediger was here was around the previous Christmas. He often celebrated the day with the Walters, Felicia’s maiden family.
Even on the years he skipped Christmas because he traveled elsewhere, he would still come during New Year.
"Mr. Ruediger, welcome back."
Two bodyguards in dark coats and suits came forward, slightly bowing at Ruediger. One of them took the suitcase from the young man.
Ruediger smiled faintly, recognizing them as bodyguards who worked under his aunt. Throughout the years he lived in Norvonna, he had been acquainted himself with them.
"Caleb and Gael, how have you been?"
Ruediger extended a hand, to which the man named Gael accepted it first. Then, he shook hands with Caleb, the one who took the suitcase.
"We’re fine. Same old, same old," Gael answered casually, his rugged features softened as he smiled, "Getting older and hopefully wiser."
