Heiress' Househusband is a Secret Billionaire

Chapter 308: More Than A Forgotten Item

At eight in the evening, the deep navy sky with twinkling stars enveloped the northern countryside. Unlike how quiet Moonville was during the daytime, more noises echoed, carried by the passing breeze.

The wind rustled dry leaves against the windows of the cottages, and the scent of cinnamon and wood smoke drifted in the air.

A huge number of the residents headed to the festival grounds, mostly on bicycles. Because the weekend began tomorrow, parents brought their excited children to have fun there.

Lariette and Ruediger were already seated at the dining table in the Campbells’ home. They arrived shortly before seven. After an hour, all four of them were done with the main dishes.

"It’s dessert time!" Paul announced chirpily as he came out from the kitchen with a big tray, "Our delicious pumpkin pie and apple crumble!"

"Yay!" Lariette clapped her hands, beaming with excitement, "Uncle Paul, I haven’t forgotten how good your apple crumbles are."

Paul burst out laughing. Placing the tray on the small oak table, he said, "Oh, stop it, Lettie. You always say that. We’re just glad you and Eddy came back to visit again."

"We’ve promised you, right?" Lariette replied, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, "I wanna show Eddy the harvest festival too."

Ruediger, sitting beside Lariette, gave her a gentle look, "It’s always good to see where Lettie grew up. She had been talking about the festival for weeks."

Melissa chuckled after sipping her apple cider, "You two are lucky it’s just cold now. It usually snows much earlier here. Maybe in two or three more weeks."

"Your Aunt Mel is right," Paul nodded. He served Lariette and Ruediger the desserts first before placing a plate before his wife, "Lettie, remember that blizzard? I think the year before you moved away."
