Chapter 236: I’m Not a Sack of Rice
[Ruediger: Arrived. Take your time]
Lariette smiled upon reading the new message from Ruediger. She had just returned from the restroom when she noticed the text.
Feeling a little refreshed after washing her face, she was ready to go back. Still, sleepiness clung to her, urging her to quickly look for her bed and pillow once she arrived home.
The school hours ended officially for today. Students started leaving their classrooms, swinging their backpacks while chatting with their friends. A few had already reached the school gates.
Lariette ran her fingers through her hair, attempting to smooth it down. Using her other hand, she sent Ruediger a quick reply.
[Lariette: Gimme ten minutes]
After making sure everything necessary was inside her backpack, Lariette got ready to leave the language faculty room. The place remained empty, but her colleagues’ belongings were there.
Lariette stopped at the doorway and glanced behind her shoulder. She still couldn’t shake off the strange feelings she experienced when she was half-awake earlier.
’Nah, don’t overthink. Lack of sleep makes people imagine things.’
Shaking her head, Lariette stepped out of the room. She closed the door behind her. There was no need to lock it because the guard on duty would do it later in the evening.
