Chapter 119: Bananas About Groceries
As promised, Ruediger and Lariette headed to the grocery store around four in the afternoon. Both of them woke up earlier from their nap, all eager to go shopping together.
"Should we go on foot? It’s just nearby," suggested Lariette as they walked out of the elevator.
"Yup! We can take some fresh air," Ruediger quickly agreed.
The grocery store was within walking distance. The estimated time was less than ten minutes on foot. Because they don’t plan to buy so many things at one go, they didn’t need to use any vehicle.
Dressed casually in thin yet comfortable clothes, Ruediger and Lariette stepped out of Lumina Spring’s gate. The golden hues of the summer afternoon greeted them.
The dazzling sun hung low, casting long shadows on the bustling street. Lariette and Ruediger heard the distant laughter from the nearby park, coming from the children playing.
"Eddy, this way."
"Coming."
As they walked down the pedestrian walkway, the warm breeze carried the aroma of blooming flowers from the nearby florist. They also smelled the faint yet, delicious tang of street food sold from a cart down the road.
Holding a big folded reusable shopping bag in his right hand, Ruediger turned to look at Lariette. She walked on the inner side of the road.
"Have you thought about what you want for dinner tonight?"
