Chapter 64: I Am Indeed Her Husband, What About It?
The lush greenery and sapphire-blue waters greeted Lariette and Madeline as they disembarked from the yacht. The warm, salty breeze tugged at their hair, making the ladies reach up to smooth the stray locks.
The time was still early, barely reaching ten o’clock.
Lariette looked around the dock. Aside from the yacht belonging to Chairman Delaney, she also saw a few more. Most likely they belonged to the guests who had just arrived, or they were tourists.
The island didn’t stop receiving tourists even when Stephanie’s grand wedding was held.
Lariette spotted some familiar yet unwelcomed faces—Stephanie’s clique members. Fortunately, her grandfather’s yacht was docked quite far from them. She didn’t want to bother with fake pleasantries if they approached her.
"Over there. Our vans, I guess."
Madeline’s voice caught Lariette’s attention. She followed to where her friend’s eyes were, seeing two executive vans with the emblem of the Delaney family nearby.
Three staff were busy relocating their suitcases from the yacht into one of the vans. All of them would be transferred to Chairman Delaney’s private villa.
"Grandpa and Eddy are still inside," Lariette glanced at the yacht with one hand on her hip, "I wonder what they’re talking about."
Chairman Delaney told Lariette and Madeline to go down to the dock first. The two ladies exchanged a look but, neither of them asked the old man why.
"I didn’t expect to see how well they get along with. As if they’re best buddies."
