Chapter 28: He Is My Husband
The unfamiliar navy blue truck, including the unfamiliar man walking by Laritte’s side, confused Chairman Delaney. Puzzlement ladened his initially joyful countenance for seeing his granddaughter.
"Brian," Chairman Delaney called the middle-aged man sitting by his side, his eyes centering on the crimson-haired young man, "Who’s that guy? I’ve never seen him before."
Brian Kingsley, the elderly chairman’s right-hand man for over three decades scanned the young man in the light blue suit. His eyes flickered with recognition.
"Well, seems like you have quite an interesting guest today, Mr. Chairman. I didn’t expect to see him here."
"Huh?"
Chairman Delaney finally tore his gaze away from Lariette and the young man, looking at Brian. His assistant’s remark indicated that he knew who the guy was.
"Who is he?"
Frowning, the elderly man continued staring at his right-hand man yet, the brunette whose hair showed traces of gray said nothing until a moment later.
Arching his brows, Brian simply said, "Mr. Chairman, I think we should wait until Miss Lariette introduces him to you."
Chairman Delaney held back from rolling his eyes. Brian’s mischievous grin told him that the young man’s identity was not a simple one.
Who was he?
