Illiya stared silently at the flowers and plants in front of his room, all wrapped tightly in protective magic arrays.
Like... was there any chance, just maybe, that the battlefield was going to stay out near the Demon Realm’s border, and wouldn’t even reach the Demon Palace?
Besides, hadn’t they already prepared everything?
Illiya honestly didn’t know what to say anymore.
As he stood there deep in thought, someone suddenly tapped him on the shoulder from behind.
The touch immediately triggered Illiya’s long-held reflexes.
Without a second thought, he blinked and condensed magic in his hand, then swung it backward toward whoever was behind him.
If they hadn’t been prepared, that blow could’ve easily killed or crippled the person standing there.
But the one behind him seemed to have dealt with this kind of thing before.
He dodged Illiya’s strike with practiced ease, without even removing his hand from Illiya’s shoulder.
"You came over with some kind of plan, didn’t you...?!"
