Chapter 70
Karl was shook, his eyes glued to the monitor screen. The panicked and fearful faces of his family filled the screen, their voices trembling yet full of hope.
"Karl, if you’re seeing this... please, stop. Surrender yourself. Whatever happens, we’ll find a way to fix it together," his mom’s voice sounded hoarse, almost teary.
"Your dad is sick because of all this. Your sister can’t stop crying," his mom continued. "You’re not alone, Karl. Please, come back."
Karl stood still, his jaw clenched as the video kept playing. His mom’s voice pierced his heart like a sharp knife, but his expression remained icy. Valencia and Layla watched attentively, unsure how to respond to such a personal yet terrifying moment.
"Dad is sick," Karl murmured softly to himself. His hands clenched at his sides, his books turned white.
Layla cautiously approached, touching Karl’s arm. "This must be the work of some daring influencers!"
As Layla said that, the camera that previously focused on Karl’s family now recorded the entire people in the room, clearly showing Angeline there.
Layla also got emotional after seeing Angeline.
Layla clenched her fists, her emotions peaked as she saw Angeline’s face on the screen. "She’s really crossing the line!" her voice trembled. "Using your family like this to control you? She’s even crueler than I ever imagined."
Karl stared at the screen coldly, although there was a hint of emotion in his eyes. "She knows how to hit my weakest point," he muttered. "But I won’t let her win."
Valencia leaned back in her chair, her eyes sharp studying the details of the video. "She’s playing a very dangerous game. But it also gives us an advantage," she said with a mysterious tone.
