Chapter 67

Karl was shook when he saw Amber zoom past him, heading straight towards Layla who was behind him. His body tensed up, and his mind raced to find a way to stop this threat. Layla, who had stepped back to make room for Karl, didn’t react in time as Amber swung her weapon brutally.

"Layla!" Karl yelled, trying to leap towards them, but his body was too slow.

But before Amber’s attack could land, Valencia suddenly appeared like a passing shadow. With almost invisible movements, she halted Amber’s attack with her sword, gracefully twisting her body and forcing Amber to take a few steps back.

"Do you want to end the life of someone who doesn’t even intend to fight you?" Valencia smiled thinly, her smile filled with threats. "That’s just plain ridiculous."

Amber glared at Valencia in anger, but her steps became more cautious. Karl felt relieved, but his awareness sharpened again.

"Layla, get out of this area! Fast!" she urged.

Layla nodded quickly, though she looked anxious. "Be careful, Karl," she said before running away, making sure she didn’t become a target again.

Karl watched as Valencia stood between him and Amber, blocking the enemy with confidence. "You’re too careless, human," Valencia said without turning her head. "If you want to protect your women, at least make sure she don’t become a burden in the middle of the fight."

Karl nodded slowly, not responding to her words. He knew Valencia was right, but this wasn’t the time for contemplation. Amber and John were still dangerous, and they seemed to be getting bolder.

Karl looked at John, who stood panting, his body full of wounds, but his eyes still radiated intense hatred. Chloe, who was lying with severe injuries on her legs, tried to support herself with Amber’s help, though it was clear they were losing their fighting spirit. Valencia stood casually, pointing her sword at John’s neck, ready to end the fight at any moment.

Karl controlled his breath, realizing they had the situation under control. "Obscura crap!" he said firmly yet menacingly, "you’re not going to win. Not tonight."
