Common Sense Hijack System

Chapter 57

Adam was shooketh, peeping from his cellie when he spotted a middle-aged dude standing nearby with a chill grin. "Yo, what’s good, man?" Adam cautiously inquired, his eyes scanning the stranger warily. He glanced around like he was scared Karl might suddenly pop up.

"Just chillin’, bro. Just scouting for someone," John casually replied, but his gaze was sharp as he observed Adam. "You look restless. Got some trouble brewing?"

Adam sighed, hesitated for a moment, but finally spoke softly. "Nah... nothing."

"Don’t front, young blood. You know Karl, right?"

Adam nodded, surprised "Karl? So, you know him?" he asked.

John faintly smiled, then slipped his hand into his jacket and pulled out a cellie. "I know... maybe not. But I got a reason to stalk him," he murmured, opening a video recording saved on his cellie. He tilted the screen towards Adam, and the video began playing.

Adam squinted, feeling unsure but unable to resist his curiosity. The video showed CCTV footage in an empty park—clearly showing himself standing in front of Karl, looking emotional, as if they were arguing. But there was something odd in the video. In the midst of the argument, Karl seemed to move his fingers, as if typing in the air, although he didn’t have a phone or any device in his hands.

The next moment, Adam in the video started acting strange. His body moved on its own, slowly he crawled to the ground, as if controlled by an unseen force. Watching the video, Adam jerked. "What the heck is this? I don’t remember ever doing that!" he whispered, shocked.

John narrowed his eyes, his gaze sharp on Adam’s reaction. "Funny, seeing yourself controlled like a puppet? I thought you’d get why I suspect Karl. I heard he’s been seen in weird places, including around Spermberggirl. Some incidents there... don’t make any sense."
