Karl was scratching his head, looking puzzled. "What’s up with the CCTV, Mrs. Jane?"
Jane stared at Karl, trying to read his expression, searching for signs of whether he knew something about the recording. However, Karl’s face appeared innocent and full of curiosity.
"Well... I just checked the footage from the break room," Jane continued cautiously. "And... there’s something strange. The two of us look... close." She paused for a moment, trying to choose the right words. "Closer than I remember ever happening."
Karl fell silent, eyebrows raised. "Close? What do you mean...?"
Jane cleared her throat, feeling a little nervous. "Yes, in the footage, we seem to be talking very intimately. And there are... moments that... confuse me."
Karl chuckled softly, perhaps trying to ease the sudden tension that filled the room. "Wait, so... there’s a video of us chatting in the break room? And that’s making you confused?"
Jane nodded slowly, unsure how to explain. "Yes, but it’s not just an ordinary conversation. There are... moments that make me feel like there’s something between us that’s more than just colleagues."
Karl blinked rapidly, maybe feeling uncomfortable, or maybe just surprised. "But, I... I don’t remember ever doing something like that, Mrs. Jane."
Jane took a deep breath, trying to remain calm. "I don’t remember either, Karl. That’s what confuses me. It seems... as if there’s a part of my memory missing. Or maybe this is just some edited footage, who knows." She smiled slightly, trying to lighten the mood. "Maybe just someone’s joke."
