Farlan blocked a goblin's clumsy strike with his shield, then cleanly severed its neck with his sword.
An arrow shot from behind struck another goblin square in the chest, shattering the magic crystal embedded there.
Yorichii watched it all unfold with a calm expression. Their performance matched his expectations.
He turned his head toward another area, where Levi stood alone. The ground around him was littered with shattered crystals.
By the time Isobel and Farlan had killed two goblins, Levi had already slain twenty.
That too, was within expectations.
Behind Yorichii, Elsa and Bell looked on, eyes sparkling with admiration.
After a bit more practice, the party descended to the next floors.
Bell, Farlan, and Levi took the lead. Elsa and Isobel followed in the middle. Yorichii stayed at the rear, watching for any surprises.
With Levi and Bell tearing through monsters ahead, few enemies managed to slip past. The few that did were swiftly handled by Farlan.
As a result, Elsa and Isobel were left without targets, their weapons idle. Sharing a helpless glance, they shrugged and continued with the group.
