Chapter 16: Another Loss! (R18)
Creed stepped into his tiny apartment, holding two pieces of paper like they were the keys to his doom.
He had picked them up at his apartment entrance and was curiously checking them out.
One was a friendly little reminder from his dear, caring landlord that he was late on rent. Again. Because clearly, life just wasn't cruel enough.
The second?
It was a love letter from Alfonzo's.
Not the kind that came with hearts and kisses. No, this one came with threats and broken kneecaps.
Creed sighed, rubbing his forehead. He had expected problems, but not like this.
Apparently, the previous owner of this body had once been so desperate for cash that he had gone to Alfonzo's, the biggest loan shark in the entire bastion, and borrowed 10,000 credits.
That money had saved him two years ago. It had helped him pay rent, buy food, and not die in a cold alley somewhere.
Great for him. Terrible for Creed. Because now the debt had come due.
And the one who would suffer wasn't the old him—it was Creed.
