Chapter 154: The Change of Plans (II)
Since the Princess wasn’t allowed outside as she wanted to, she was taking advantage of the guest room that stretched all the way across the very top floor of the inn.
Even through the windows covered in oiled paper and woolen curtains, the Princess heard something from down below in the village square.
Glancing over her shoulder, she paused for a while to make sure her brother truly was out of the room and talking to the Royal Knights as he was supposed to a little while before.
With a sigh, she ran to the window.
She couldn’t help her curiosity as she moved away the curtains and peeled back some of the paper. After wiping away the oil that blurred her view of the outside, she was pleased to see there were knights and apprentices practicing down below.
The past few weeks had been the closest she had gotten to knights and she was very interested—to say the least.
It seemed that by the time she had gotten a good view of the scene below, they were already finishing up with a quick practice. She watched as the apprentice she danced with used his feet to nearly take out a knight and escape the blade before they could come back again.
Princess Marie gasped when the knight’s sword was inches from the apprentice’s throat. Her hand went over her lips.
Even though the swords were covered, it still stressed her out that people were willing to put themselves in such danger as that.
