Chapter 136: Summoning element
Both teams stood on both sides of the arena, a space of almost twenty meters between them while the two referees stood on the sides.
The students of both academies had calm faces as they stared at each other. The difference in ranking between the two academies in the previous tournament wasn’t big so it could be said that there wasn’t any difference in their strength.
The stadium buzzed with noise as the spectators looked at the arena with faces filled with anticipation for the match.
The referees didn’t make them wait for long and gave the call for the match to begin.
The next moment, the eight students in the arena started to move.
The members of the Starfall Magic Academy summoned their pale blue stars and formed star patterns, all of which had the ice element.
"Freezing waves!"
Two voices rang out at the same time. A powerful burst of cold air exploded from their star patterns the next second and frost began to appear in the air as the temperature dropped drastically.
The ground in front of them started to freeze up and turn into a thick layer of ice that spread forward, quickly covering a distance of 30 meters.
The students of the Black Rose Magic Academy had already reacted the moment that they saw the ground beginning to freeze, all four of them had retreated a couple of meters to avoid getting caught in the frozen space. Even from where they were standing, they could feel the biting cold of the frozen space; they would definitely have difficulty moving if caught in it.
The other two students of the Starfall Magic Academy weren’t staying idle. As ice mages, their resistance to cold was better than mages of other elements at the same rank.
Seeing the students of the Black Rose academy move to safety, the remaining two students in white tracksuit uniforms charged into the frozen space. They disregarded the cold and frosts that fell on them as they charged toward the four in black uniforms, pale blue star patterns hovering above them.
