Chapter 207: Bad News, Still Can’t Win
"Looks like we've won again!"
Watching the retreating alliance forces on the battlefield, Joton couldn't help but laugh.
The other generals wore expressions of inevitability.
The alliance army was disorganized and each faction had its own agenda, making it difficult to unify their efforts. Their combat strength was naturally inferior to the Imperial army, making defeat inevitable.
Stali chuckled, "The alliance's main forces are here. If we deliver a heavy blow, it'll make things much easier afterward."
Joton laughed heartily, but then noticed Braid deep in thought and asked, "What's wrong?"
Braid shook his head, contemplating, "The alliance can't match the Empire on the front lines. The opposing commander must know this. They've used decapitation tactics before to turn the tide, but there's been no movement so far."
Joton shrugged, "They probably think we're prepared, that the success rate of a night raid is low, so they've given up."
"Perhaps," Braid conceded.
"No need to worry, Duke Braid."
A sultry voice suddenly interjected from the side.
