The Greatest Mecha

Chapter 13: A Test

The alarm by her bed rang and she climbed out of her bed reached out to it, putting it off. She moved to the bathroom to wash her face and look at her reflection in the mirror. Amy sighed and packed her red hair behind a rubber band and then took her bath. When she was done she fitted into her uniform and put on her circles glasses. She was ready for her first core test, it wasn't much of a big deal but it was the first time she would get to test run a real mech and not a 3D version of on.

In that day she would prove herself for the three years of hard work she had put into her training ever since she entered the mech union division #1056. It was all she ever thought about, as she stepped out of her room she stopped to think again of a certain figure but it fazed out of her mind. It wasn't the first time it had happened, in the first two years she would always remember a figure, a person but now she could hardly remember who it was.

She turned down the well lit a steel hallway and proceeded down with her thick dark leather boots. Her quarters was located at a different region of the facility it was just a floor above the others and only five people lived here, they were the top scorers in the mech pilot division. Ever since Amy had entered she had been the top scorer, earning a 98 on the test, ever since then she had always received the honour treatment.

She did not despise this treatment as it gave her a reason to ignore the other students. She always woke up extremely early to avoided the other trainees and make her way to the training department for her early martial training.

As she was walking down the hall she caught sight of someone a strong young man standing with his back to the wall and continued to walk by him.

He reached out to touch her but the moment his finger touched her he received a string jab to the throat causing him to cough and vomit blood. It was a face she was all too familiar off, "Next time it'll be one of your balls." She warned as she strutted away.

The boy with shaggy brown hair and a wide muscular frame tailed after her and coughed repeatedly sending drops of blood flying. A few minutes his body calmed down slightly allowing him to speak and it came out as a low wheeze. "Amy, what a great way to greet an old friend." It was Kram the second one in the three who had come from the same orphanage.

Over the three years he had barely seen her face to face, mostly because he took more interest in the weapons assault department more than the martial arts class. Even thought most of their classes overlapped he noticed that she avoided him every time, it was like she had forgotten him or she wanted to forget him.
