Chapter 24
I was kind of surprised the cop didn't bust Jack and Noah. Maybe he didn't find solid evidence and couldn't charge them.
The officer cursed at the two guys on the ground, then hopped into his police car and slowly drove out of the parking lot.
I wanted to follow him to Lily's place to check if she was okay after a whole night of torment, but I was scared he'd spot me coming out of the bushes, so I had to wait a bit longer.
After the police car finally left, I quietly slipped out of the bushes from the other side, watching Jack and Noah still writhing on the ground from a distance. I happily circled around, got into my car parked by the roadside, and headed to Lily's house. When I got to her street, I saw a police car parked in her yard from a distance, and the lights were on in the house, with shadows moving inside.
It looked like Lily had made it home safe. I had planned to just drive by and visit her the next day after she had some rest. But I was still worried and needed to see her with my own eyes. So, I parked the car a bit further away, walked along the street in the dark, and sneaked into Lily's yard through the side gate.
As I passed the police car, something felt off. Usually, patrol cars have all sorts of gadgets like GPS, keyboards, and radios, but this one looked just like a regular car. But I was too worried about Lily to think much about it since I wasn't familiar with the ins and outs of American police cars.
I climbed up the wall at the back of the house and leaned against the first-floor window. The bright light inside lit up the room, and the blinds weren't fully closed, so I could see everything clearly through the gaps.
I expected to see Lily curled up on the sofa while the officer talked on his walkie-talkie. But what I saw left me stunned!
Lily was facing sideways towards the window, her body glistening under the light. She was completely naked, lying on the table in the middle of the living room, her hands cuffed behind her back with silver handcuffs, her long legs spread apart, and her bare feet tiptoeing on the living room floor.
