When everyone in the corridor heard her mention a contagious disease, they all took another step back to distance themselves from the family.
How could this woman come out asking for help and not informing others about her son’s condition in advance? Was she really trying to kill them all?
"What nonsense are you talking about? My son is just sick and has a fever. How can you say that he has a contagious disease? You just don’t want the others to help him. You want him to die like my elder son whom you killed." Mrs. Fang bit back immediately and even tried to discredit Chu Miao.

He did that first to clear Chu Miao’s name, because no matter what, she was their leader and he didn’t want others to question her character.
