Because of this level of trust, he swore in his heart to always protect his girlfriend and her family and also protect all the secrets with his life.
He also was aware that while the prophecy might have encouraged Chu Miao to protect humanity against the apocalypse it could not force her to do the same.
But, from the way they were taking in new team members it was obvious that they intended to fulfill the prophecy and protect humanity and modern civilization.
