Chapter 25: Back in City A
"Okay, you do that with your brother. Mom will start making those constant-temperature suits for everyone just in case they are needed without notice." Mother Chu stood up and headed towards the store room.
"And daddy will cook more food to store in the freezer. By the way, I think we need a bigger freezer here; put it in the store room."
Only then did Chu Miao remember the freezer she had packed into her space ring at the last minute, "I brought the biggest freezer from the villa; it should be enough. I’ll put it in the store room before leaving. You can connect it to the electricity and backup generator later, Daddy."
"Okay, everyone gets to work. Father, you can rest and let us do what needs to be done." Mother Chu advised. But the butler rejected her.
"Madam, don’t worry, I will take care of the general’s room and needs. Otherwise, I won’t know what to do sitting around doing nothing."
"Alright, uncle. You can do whatever you want."
Everyone knew that even though they treated the butler like family, he still liked to keep a distance between them. That’s why no matter how much they convinced him, he refused to sit at the same table and eat with them. Even after all the servants were dismissed.
After laying new bedsheets and blankets on their beds and putting their clothes in the closet, Chu Miao and her brother went out to buy supplies.
Since it was only two days before the apocalypse started, Father Chu and Grandpa Chu decided to call their friends, whom they believed could be trusted and had good character, to warn them.
They advised them to stock up on supplies and move to higher ground.
