Chapter 13: Mother and Daughter Shopping Spree
"Alright, let’s go to the salon first, then go and rent a truck. We need one that’s covered. That way when we load things in one place, we can take them into the space ring without arousing any doubts. Instead of having things delivered to the warehouse."
"That’s a good idea darling. Then let’s call a cab and not take the driver. It will be more convenient if it’s just the two of us." Her mother readily agreed.
They walked out while calling a taxi. Unfortunately, this was the villa area, and they had to walk a distance to exit and get the cab there, but it didn’t matter; both of them felt more energetic after the cleansing last night.
After exiting the villa area, a cab was already waiting. They got into the cab and went straight to the salon. Their hairdresser was shocked when both mother and daughter wanted to cut their hair to a bob, but the customer was always right. So, they walked out of the salon with their waist-length hair gone, and in its place was a bob that reached their neck.
The mother and daughter then walked a short distance to a car dealership shop and rented a truck for a month. The shop also functions as a car modifying workshop, so they ordered an RV and asked for it to be modified using bulletproof and shockproof metal and glass.
They also requested to add tampered glass on top and a sunroof with the same material. The tires should also be bulletproof and flat-run.
Chu Miao thought one RV might not be enough so she convinced her mother to have two modified. They paid the deposit of 2 million and also ordered spare parts and accessories in case something needs changing later. She also ordered several sets of winter tires, studded tires, and summer tires.
The RVs had a living room, bathroom, a kitchen, and 3 small bedrooms. They were fitted with a water tank, 2 LPG tanks of 23 kilograms each, solar panels with large capacity batteries that supplied electricity, a fridge, a freezer, a cooker, and other appliances.
This was simply tailor-made for the apocalypse.
Getting two will last for a long time. Plus, they can always get more when the apocalypse starts. Many vehicles will be abandoned.
After leaving the car dealership, they got into the rented truck and drove to the biggest mall in the city. They came here because they can get different varieties of clothes and the quality is guaranteed. Just because they were shopping for the apocalypse, it didn’t mean they had to compromise on quality.
They walked into a clothes store they frequented and went straight to the sportswear section. They ordered all the stock they had of clothes that could fit them both, then did the same for Father Chu and Chu Hao.
