Arabella wanted to punish him for making her wait after all this time. Instead, she couldn’t stop herself from falling for the bait.
She closed the distance between them and captured his lips before he could kiss her.
She didn’t regret it as she loved the groan of pleasure, yet likewise, a complaint deep from his throat for driving his patience to the edge.
Ferdinand kissed her back filled with eagerness but coupled with an effort to hold back, so he wouldn’t ravage her as he pleased. He was trying to take his time and be gentle with her.
The rustling of leaves, the flow of the spring, and every sound there was, faded into the background as their lips kept interlocking; tenderly, and lazily, savoring each other now that they finally had the chance to do so after more than two months.
Time seemed to slow down, and the world seemed to exist just for them as they focused on each other and every sensation each light touch made them feel.
And yet, it wasn’t enough.
They needed more.
Arabella pulled him closer. She missed him way too much. And she realized just how much she had been dying for this.
