Chapter 321: Explanations
Arabella held her husband’s hand. She knew he was overthinking things again. That tendency of his hadn’t changed.
[She also noticed?! Did she hear the rumors about me and Icarus almost having a duel last time?] Ferdinand was wide-eyed.
Arabella smiled at her husband when he glanced at her. She wanted to assure him there was nothing to worry about since she was on his side even if Benjamin or her family was not.
Ferdinand sighed in relief when he understood what she meant. He smiled and kissed the back of her hand.
[He smiled?! He even kissed the back of her hand so lovingly. Is this really the same Ferdinand that I know?] Icarus was shocked. He still had misunderstandings about Arabella and Ferdinand’s marriage.
[Get a room.] Benjamin rolled his eyes. He was actually relieved though that Ferdinand did not get angry.
[He seems to truly treasure my sister though. He did not attend the Assembly meetings ever since she got poisoned. I heard he was devastated and stayed by her side the whole time. But he could have allowed even just Mother to see Ella when she was unconscious. Mother was too worried and could not even eat but he still did not let her see Ella.]
Benjamin was still wary of Ferdinand and was quite confused or rather, perplexed that they did not allow anyone from their side to see Arabella even once.
They were Arabella’s family first and foremost. Thus, not allowing them to see her even once almost implied that Ferdinand didn’t trust them and suspected that they may have been involved in the poisoning.
