"A long long time ago, the last dragon alive fell in love with a princess. He transformed into how humans look so he could approach the princess without scaring her," Arabella narrated for Dimo and paid attention to her husband’s thoughts and reactions.
Alwin glanced from Ferdinand to Arabella.
Ferdinand straightened up since it was closely related to their situation.
"The princess fell in love with him too but cannot marry him because he had no rank or title. Thus, he became a king in order to marry her. But the princess and everyone else discovered he was the last dragon alive."
Ferdinand gulped and turned tense as he awaited what Arabella would say next.
"Dragons were feared since they were too strong and dangerous to humans. So the princess’ parents were against the marriage. The princess hesitated too since the dragon might hurt her and her family someday."
[I won’t. I never would.] Ferdinand internally promised.
"Eh?! That’s so sad. What happened next?" Dimo asked.
"The last dragon proved his love for the princess and showed that dragons can be loving and gentle too."
[Yes. That’s true. I may not be gentle but I will do my best to take care of you. I will love you for the rest of my life and even after my death.]
"The princess realized that she loved the dragon no matter what he was and together, they convinced her parents. And soon, they were finally allowed to get married. They lived happily ever after and had many children."
