Chapter 117: You Care About Me
Li Tingmo sat next to Li Sihe, his voice indifferent: "You should be well aware of your own health; are you seeking death?"
Li Sihe responded calmly with a smile: "I am sick of living, the days are monotonous and uninteresting."
But Li Sihe’s calm reply was met with an even angrier cold stare from Li Tingmo.
"Li Sihe, what on earth do you want to do? Haven’t I been accommodating enough to you during this period? You wanted me to return the inheritance to Bian Yue, I did! You said you didn’t want to be betrothed to Zhuang Jie Ning, and I didn’t press you! What else do you want?" Li Tingmo suppressed his emotions as he looked at Li Sihe, his gaze icy: "Don’t be too ungrateful!"
"Father accuses me of being ungrateful? What does Father consider as being grateful? How should I be compliant?" Li Sihe’s expression remained undisturbed, his sickly face growing even paler as he covered his mouth to cough lowly, a cold light passing through his eyes: "I want to take control of Fengcheng Group."
Li Tingmo was dumbfounded, his extreme anger turning into laughter, "Have you gone mad? With your current health? You still dream of taking control of Fengcheng Group? What grand statements you make! Li Sihe, do you have any sense of how long you can live?"
Li Sihe spread open his palm, saw the trace of blood he had just coughed up, and with Li Tingmo’s horrified gaze upon him, he emotionlessly wiped the blood from his palm.
He said faintly: "Father thinks that I am not long for this world, so it’s pointless to struggle for anything more? But I am not willing to accept that. Didn’t you tell me before that a person should always take control of their own destiny, no matter the circumstances? I took that to heart."
Li Tingmo felt a chill throughout his body, shockingly looking at Li Sihe, unable to hide his bewilderment: "Now you should be focusing on recuperating. Li Sihe, what is more important than your own life? Even if you do take control of Fengcheng, what makes you think you can stabilize those beneath you with your current health?"
"So, does Father plan to adopt a child from another branch of the family in his name?" Li Sihe spoke calmly: "I wonder which child has caught Father’s eye now? Is that child smart enough? Easy to control?"
