SILVER-HEART

Chapter 86: Reflection

I didn’t know when sleep took me, I wasn’t in the cold water anymore but a warm bed, I groaned against it, flicking my eyes open, and met with the slightly dimmed chambers, most of its source coming from the moonlight that shone through the window. Illuminating the room and giving a surreal view, my eyes were too tired to take it all, I felt alone.

"William?"

"I’m here"

A flush of relief found me, my nerves calming when I heard his voice. He was sitting on the bed watching me and I could see from the shadow and his eyes. My favorite green color was back, another highlight of the room. A smile on my lips as I reached for his hand next to me and gripped it tightly, although they were quivering slightly but when he gave my hand a gentle squeeze it instantly stopped.

My body hummed in delight, just his touch was enough for tingles and comfortable warmth, his hands were so big and covered mine like a blanket.

"Go back to sleep"

He’s back with his orders. I haven’t realized how much I miss his voice until now... I felt like I haven’t heard it in years, I thought I would never get to anymore... when I saw him pale, with no heartbeat, black eyes.

I thought I have lost him forever

For a reason unknown to me my heart cannot bear that thought, it was enough to squeeze the life out of me. I’m glad he’s okay or else I won’t stop blaming myself.

The strong essence of sleep came back to me and my lashes grew heavy, I was too tired and my muscles needed relaxation, as the realms of sleep took me again I utter words with an ounce of hope.

"Will you be here when I wake up?"
