Chapter 68: Testing His Patience {1}
"Outside of these four walls is a place you’re not ready to be a part of" he began, but suddenly something flashed in his eyes. "No... I cannot allow you to be anywhere but inside this library"
I felt a twist in my heart, my smile swiftly fading. "Why?" I asked in a whisper but I felt too downhearted and woozy to even care to know his reason. "Nevermind" I mumbled turning my back to him and snuggling more into the pillow forcing my eyes to close begging for sleep to come and to my luck it did.

William felt his heart tug when her smile fades, it felt like he was plunged into a dark hole by just the sight of it, it was at the tip of his tongue, to agree with what she desired, she was a fairy after all and they craved nature. William craves nature too because of what he is, and he was able to go for a run in his final form whenever he wanted to because he was different and the creatures that inhabit this dimension feared him enough to disappear when he came out.
But Ava was different, she was far too precious to be out in a world that didn’t deserve her, she may not know it but the creatures could be worse than humans. 21 years of her life was cruel to her and he could still picture the state he saw her in, it was enough to chill his insides and there was a sudden regret of not bringing her hometown down to ashes for what they did to her but he knew better than to mess with humans, he was a non-dimensional being not existing in other realms but here. If he so much as inflicted on the earth’s laws it could cause devastating results.
Ava’s fate was not pleasant in the mortal realm and he cannot risk anything happening to her here even though there might be a chance because of his presence, she was much safer here, within the walls of the library where no one can see her. Only for his eyes...
He leveled his gaze to her shoulder, her mark peeking from it, a symbol that caught his attention since the day he laid eyes on it. A vermillion red tattoo, tiny and well crafted, consisting of a butterfly, the wings were like a craft curl design down to the last detail.
Because he was occupied with the knowledge accumulating in the library... he had asked Severus to search for it and he was yet to see results but William knew deep down what it meant he just needed to be sure or else it was too much of a big coincidence.
Basker did tell him a fairy would reunite all, but who knew that particular fairy would be far more precious than a regular fairy?
This is yet another reason he should keep her here until he figures out the next cause of action... As he sensed from the very beginning her future entails many things...

This was far worse than he hoped... this was uncalled for... Ava has not said a word to him all day, only the word ’good morning’ and nothing else, he also found it hard to read her, she was barely around him to get a read on her. It unnerved him, why was she acting this way? He wanted to be near her but she found an excuse to not sit at the table and read.
