Chapter 8: Becoming Mute
I was torn between several questions in my head, I was already having a headache due to it. Severus’ words earlier just only increased my curiosity, he said every century, does this mean my new owner has lived that long? Is that even possible? Surely he must mean every year right?
Severus said nothing else until we were outside, like an alley and the sunlight barely reached here. I shivered when the cold breeze flooded in, I covered myself more with the oversized jacket around me, the whiff of the scent radiating off it engulfed my nose and I found myself groaning, that same earthly scent. Like does it smell so heavenly?
"Miss Ava"
I brought my gaze to Severus hazels, he grinned at me with the door opened and I finally caught sight of the car before me. He motioned for me to get in and I gulped leisurely walking to it and going in. A hot chill ran through me when I saw the company, my very owner seated beside me.
I stilled in both shock and fear, with my broadened eyes on him and he was just reluctantly staring out the window and it made me wonder if he senses my presence.
The sudden shut of the door caused me to jump slightly, I realized Severus was already in and started the car.
"No delay, I’m almost of time"
My eyes drifted to my owner when he spoke, his voice always sent chills down my body, I was having a really hard time telling if it was fear or something else. I noticed he held a pocket watch checking the time, how on earth does he see without no holes in that mask?
"Yes, Master" Severus replied and drove away.
I should see my surroundings as we pass through the buildings, for I haven’t seen the outside world for an entire year or other people aside from the ones I have seen in that place. But as foolish as I am... I have always been foolish... I had my eyes on my owner.
