"I would still welcome if any other of your clan watch over my Empress, given the fact you’re here, you’re still their queen and have other duties," Nicklaus said.
Her smile broadens. "I’m the only one capable of monitoring the Empress’ condition" she faces me and her blue orbs seem to glitter. "You have made a difficult choice, Empress, for we have never experienced such before, but I will support you as best as I can.
"Thank you, Mathilda," I said, placing my hand on my flat stomach. I couldn’t believe it, a child was actually growing within me. I was happy as a smile graced my lips, if only Nicklaus would smile more, but he had that stock still expression on like the world was ending, or like he was about to face an army with it, I’m sure he was scaring everyone with that look he had on, but not me, I just rolled my eyes, why was he still acting like this?
