"I know you’re right," Yu Holea whispered, feeling a lump form in her throat. "I thought I could handle it... I thought if I stayed silent, I’d spare him the pressure. But it’s starting to feel like... like I’m losing him."
Sheng Yin pulled Yu Holea into a gentle embrace, her voice soft.
"You won’t lose him if you talk to him, Lea. You’ll only lose him if you keep pushing him away without giving him a chance to understand what you’re going through."
Yu Holea nodded, though a part of her was still scared. Scared of confronting the feelings she had been trying to suppress.
Scared of hearing what Qiao Jun might say if she truly opened up to him.
