But before she could confront him, Pan Zhijin’s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing into slits as he fixed his gaze on Pan Rou.
"You think you can escape from me, Rou Rou?" he sneered, his voice laced with venom. "You may have run away once, but you can’t hide forever. You belong to me, and I will not rest until I have you back where you belong."
Pan Rou’s blood ran cold at his words, a surge of fear coursing through her veins. She knew what he was capable of, knew the depths of his cruelty. And she would be damned if she let him take her down that dark path again.
With a steely resolve, Pan Rou squared her shoulders and met her uncle’s gaze head-on.
"I will never belong to you," she declared, her voice ringing with defiance. "I am my own person, and I will not let you control me any longer."
Pan Zhijin’s eyes narrowed, his smile fading into a scowl as he took a menacing step toward Pan Rou.
"You will regret those words, little Rou Rou," he growled, his voice low and dangerous. "Mark my words, you will regret them."
Suddenly he crossed the distance between them and arrived behind Pan Rou.
A hand wrapped around Pan Rou’s neck, and Pan Zhijin chuckled,
"Let’s go."
