BLOOD LEGACIES

Chapter 460: Worried Cat

DACE

~

Having to deal with the Pride Council and trying to keep them in check as well as my business partners who came to seek an audience was already a handful. Everything I pulled tonight had consequences and I was ready to deal with them. My clan can’t go against me knowing they will lose everything in the process if they so much as think of it. At least I know my Council is loyal to a point.

But this? This is not what I expected. In a bathroom lies what remains of Isabella Dominguez, not what I expected the night to be and definitely not involved for what I planned. I only focused on getting Emma out of there who looked in shock after what happened.

We called it a night and came back to the hotel and I knew Noah Dominguez must be losing his marbles right now. But Isabella had it coming when she killed my guards and planned to kill Emma too. I’m still reeling in anger and thinking about obliterating the rest of House Dominguez after their treason.

Hearing the shower go off I looked at the door and it clicked open with Emma stepping out wearing just one of my T-shirts with a towel hanging on her head.

"Done?" I only ask. We haven’t spoken to each other. She was first to go get cleaned up and shut the door in my face. And of course, I let that slide, she’s still in shock but at least she looked better now.

She nods. "You should get some shower too" she mumbled standing in front of me like a child who did something wrong and waited to be scolded. No doubt I am not in my best mood. I could feel every one of her emotions, she’s scared and guilt was gripping her so badly it makes me choke.

"Dace I..." she begins closing her eyes like she was thinking of what to say next. "I’m sorry about what happened. Isabella, she’s your... childhood friend and-"

"Why are you apologizing?" I asked with narrowed eyes. Yes, Isabella was my childhood friend but whatever emotions I felt at that time was down the drain. Now she was only a woman who tried to kill my Female in cold blood right under my nose. I will admit if Emma hadn’t done what she did I would have taken my reasonable cause of action.

"I blew her up," she said with wide eyes still shaken. "Doesn’t that warrant my apology? I blew someone up!"
