I think there is something wrong with me. Ever since I had a taste of Dace’s blood I feel like staying close to him no matter what, like the air wasn’t breathable without him there. It took me everything not to stay in his room and get ready. I needed to breathe, I really needed to breathe. I don’t like this, I feel like a clingy schoolgirl who can’t get enough of her crush.

This is just a partnership between us and it’s not like he has feelings for me and I’m just using this to get a little freedom for myself, that is only why I agreed to it. But now I don’t know if I can stay a mile away from him without going on a full blown attack. There’s a pull, a tug.

Luther has provided me with blood for years and yet I have never felt such pull with him, it was more like an obligation, I just followed him around because he flaunts me as his countess to his people and that we’re offspring of Cassius Morelock, it never felt like an invisible thread woven and pulling towards him. Never.

Whatever this is, it scares me because when this partnership ends there is no reason to stay beside him anymore and as far as I know I will be discarded. Dace isn’t the affectionate person I knew and now he does things for gain and reason and nothing more.

I can’t let myself be driven too far with this, so I will stand my ground and make sure this is strictly professional and I don’t get addicted to his blood as I did with Luther. A part of me still craves Luther’s blood but it is the only reason, like a struggle from being a drug addict for so long and finally changing to another drug. So right now the need for Dace’s blood isn’t as strong as it was before, I will use this particular trait and make sure I don’t take too much to get addicted.

"Emma"

I forced a smile. "Hi Singe" I don’t know why Dace brought me here but at least I get to see Singe.

"Leave!" Dace snapped and Singer gave a curt bow before leaving, I finally noticed a door before us.

"She’s been meaning to see you"
