My entire body aches and the sharp ringing in my ears is becoming a nuisance. I couldn’t move my body, I couldn’t feel anything, it was like I was tied down by a rock and the weight of it was coming from my right shoulder, that bite. It’s affecting me, affecting my head, my body, I can’t think, and worse of all I can’t use my powers.
How did it come to this?
I let my mind travel... I remember the night was cold, just as always, it was always cold, and the moonlight shone the brightest, I was having trouble sleeping so I stood by the window just as I always did and watched the skies. Tiger is always next to me... standing next to the window too as I gently trailed my hand up and down his head, petting the creature.
He has always been next to me... my familiar.
It was supposed to be yet another calm evening trapped in a particular place ever since I came back to the country. I have two men in my life who took my safety to its utmost importance, practically obsessing over it like angry children, it was either stay in one place or face their nagging.
I knew what the safety measures were meant for... it was important because my very existence was a trigger to many things.
And yet... the worst happened, the mansion was attacked, I was told to stay in my room while they dealt with the intruders but it was already a losing battle the moment this place was stormed, someone must have sold us out, because this was the best hiding place possible.
