Chapter 182: Sleep Reading

EMMA

~

I groaned in my sleep turning against my bed, covering myself more with my blanket, and allowing the realm of dreams to take me. I was so mentally tired that I really needed sleep and thank God I found myself fading. But my dreams weren’t exactly something I would call relaxing.

Fuck! Even in it, I was still reading? I flipped the book pages written in green words, a hand against my jaw as I scanned through them. I guess there was no use avoiding this, my reading these days was so much that even in my dream I couldn’t run away from them, great! Super great! For weeks since I started here, I always found myself reading in...

I shift my gaze to my environment. Wait, I thought this was the school library, so where is this place? I was suddenly conscious of my environment and not the book anymore. All this time I thought I was mentally reading in the library, except that it wasn’t... well it did look like the library but different, I couldn’t make out the place well because it was all blurry, only the texts were there for me to see but the rest of my place, no.

So I narrowed my eyes, I saw shelves but that was it, the place was dark too with only lightened torches at the wall, it was really hard to make out the things here. So I shrugged, shifting my gaze back to the book before me, the text was super clear and it seemed only the book was what I could see. I tilted my head while watching the book... this didn’t seem like a book from the library either, surely none of them had green texts on them, I was finally noticing that now. Overly curious I closed the book trying to see the heading of what I was supposedly reading, and just when I was about to make it out but when a loud ringing sound shocked me.

I yelped looking around for the source but to no avail and then it came again but this time louder, it echoed in the entire place and it made my heart jump further, was that my alarm?

It came again.

I gasped, flashing my eyes open before rubbing them and reaching for the annoying sound and tapped on the clock and it snoozed.

"Emma, you’re gonna be late for school!" Vanessa’s voice came in.

It took a minute as I blinked multiple times and tried to recall everything and I sat up, scratching my head. That’s right, school. I groaned, and just when I thought I had taken a break from night school, high school came to do its worst.
